EDIS timing

Post by Scott Bruce »

Hi
with EDIS all conected, will MSII 3.0 board change the timing to less than the 10 deg. limp-home mode? will it go into retard timing under boost pressure if you set it in the ign table?

In limp home mode, timing with EDIS will be determined by the placement of the missing tooth ahead of the VR sensor. The SAW input doesn't work in limp home mode.

Timing will be whatever you set it to in normal circumstances. Mine goes from a maximum of 34 degrees BTDC at 100kpa and below to about 17 degrees BTDC under boost.

Full range according to the specs I've seen are 57.4 degrees BTDC to 10 degrees ATDC. Spark retard under boost is fully under your control, as you fill out a table of advance values as a function of manifold pressure and rpm.
