MSII, MT 2.25, V3 board, using a relay for the ignition module to supply timing during crank (as suggested in the megamanual)

I have the car idling but my timing is at 15 degrees and I have have to get my trigger offset done in MT, but when it is idling MS is supplying the advance and during crank the ignition module is supplying the advace so how do i set my timing to say 10 deg BTC?

Thanks,

Patrick :D

Patrick,

To set the timing cranking to 10° with the 8-pin HEI, start he engine, then open the trigger wizard, and set the trigger offset to 10. Then you turn the distributor until the timing light matches the displayed value (the big numbers).

You can verify this by disconnecting 5V from the bypass pin (pin B) and you should have 10 BTDC as viewed on with a timing light.

Doing this gives you a cranking advance of 10°, and whatever you have in the spark table for idle timing.

Lance,

Thanks! I think I got it. I read your post and found the megamanual on it too.

The car is now able to go around the block on its own power! just need to replace my dying alternator and off to tunesville.
