Car wont run below 2000rpm

Ok, I have a problen that i cant solve.
The problem is that my car wont run nice when rpm drops below around 2000rpm. Everything runs nice over 2000rpm. I have driven about 100km while keeping the car over 2000 and there seems to be no problems at all.

What happends when it drops below is that the relay for the fuel pump and lambda, called FP relay on the external wiring diagram switches on and off, sometimes very short and fast switches, and sometimes for around 1-2 seconds. When this happends sometimes it shuts the whole engine down, but when it just switches fast it runs very poorly and wont idle.

It feels like there is a bad connection somwhere in the car and has nothing to do with the MS, butt he strange thing about all this is that I am almost sure this happend when I upgraded from 2.1 code to 2.3 code. And the fact that the car runs wo problems above 2000rpm.

The car is an Alfa Romeo GTV6 -84 wiht L-jet original.
MS II v3.0. code: 2.36 MT 2.25

I hope this is enough information together with the datalogs.

EDIT: I only run fuel for now. Ignition is stock dirstributor.

Christian,

Have you tried downgrading to V2.1 code to see if the problem goes away? When you upgraded, did you recreate a settings file from scratch to make sure everything was right, such as the next pulse tolerances?

If reverting to the old code doesn't help, you might need to make a modification to the input circuit (what module are you using??). There's more on that here: http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/inputHEI.htm.

Christian,

I just saw your edit - are you triggering off the coil or from a sensor or module of some sort?

I have not tried to downgrade to 2.1. I just came to think about that I it never occured on 2.1 code when I was sitting here in front of the computer. But I will try that tomorrow.
The ignition is triggerd by some sort of ignition module. I dont know what its called, but its a Bosch module and it has 6 pins connected. Its a silver colored box that is about 15x15x5 cm if that helps.
When i upgraded I did all settings from scratch again.
The 2.1 code was the first one I downloaded when I had bought my MS half a year ago (yes was a little slow on installing it :) ) So just got the car started and idling on 2.1 code, then i decided to check the latest code.

But as I said I will try to downgrade tomorrow so I am 100% sure that it really did run better on 2.1.

CWaltgard,

Since you are triggering from a module, I would try the MSnS-E Hall input circuit modification described here: http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/inputHEI.htm. A number of people have found this has helped with HEI issues very similar to yours.

Now there is one more to add to the list who got it working this way.
Truly great and fast support here.
I drove around all day and the car runs great now. It feels like its only a little tweaking on the accel enrich left to do. But I guess its like everything that I own that is adjustble, i will change one or another value every time Im driving the car just because I can :D
