Clifton,If I change the fuel numbers under Tables/VE tables and burn to ecu nothing happens.
Do you mean the number reverts to the previous value, or it stasys at the value you changed it to (which is the way it is supposed to work)?
Do you get any error messages? Have you activated the approopriate INI file and CODE_VARIANT?
Are you testing on the car or with a stim? Do you have good voltage at the stim?
You might try hitting 'Tab' after changing a value - this helps in some cases (apparently depending on Windows settings).

It will stay at what I changed it to but there isn't a change in my AFR.lance wrote: Do you mean the number reverts to the previous value, or it stasys at the value you changed it to (which is the way it is supposed to work)?
It is set to MSII, no error on that.lance wrote: Do you get any error messages? Have you activated the approopriate INI file and CODE_VARIANT?
It was preassembled so I didn't get a stim. If you mean good ecu voltage it is good.lance wrote: Are you testing on the car or with a stim? Do you have good voltage at the stim?
I just went out and tried it. It didn't make a difference. I did it on PWM%lance wrote: You might try hitting 'Tab' after changing a value - this helps in some cases (apparently depending on Windows settings).
and VE under Tables. I did set my fuel numbers to "0" from 600rpm to 1500rpms and low load(idle) values. It should have shut the car off I would think. I saved it and then closed MT and shut of MS. I then opened MT and pulled up the the VE table. It was blank until I started the car and then fetched from ECU. It came up as I had saved it on MS with the changes (0's).

Not if your opening time and PWM time threshold aren't right.
I not sure I understand what you are saying, isn't this what you expect to happen?I saved it and then closed MT and shut of MS. I then opened MT and pulled up the the VE table. It was blank until I started the car and then fetched from ECU. It came up as I had saved it on MS with the changes (0's).

Yes. That's what I expected to happen but I thought if I had it set to zero it would not be injecting.lance wrote:Clifton,I did set my fuel numbers to "0" from 600rpm to 1500rpms and low load(idle) values. It should have shut the car off I would think.

I have my opening time and threshold set at 1.3. If it's set to 1.2 it will quickly go from about 10:1 afr's with the 1.3 setting to mid 16:1's and stall. The zero setting on the fuel didn't budge my afr's out of the 10:1 range. They were at 9 previously.

If you set the PWM% too low, and the PWM time threshold is longer then the actual opening time, the engine may run fine at low pulse widths. So you need to blip the throttle while setting the PWM% to make sure that longer pulse widths still work well (you may have to drive the vehicle to find out).
You should not use the PWM time threshold and opening time to tune the engine (I.e., to adjust the AFR). If the engine is unresponsive to VE and PWM% changes, the PWM time threshold and/or the opening time are most likely wrong for your injectors. You should set them at reasonable values, then tune to them by leaving them constant. Read this: http://www.megamanual.com/v22manual/mtune.htm#pwm
To me, it seems like 1.3 is too long for the opening time and PWM time threshold, based on your description. I would set them both back to 1.0, then adjust the PWM% (raise it as described in the manual) and idle VEs (raise them) to get the engine running properly (I suspect you are running mostly on the fuel injected during the opening time/PWM time threshold right now).
Lance.
I tried lowering it to 1.0 and raising the VE fuel. I scaled the whole map up. I went from 0 to 104 at the idle area. It still won't idle at 1.0. It will idle at 1.2 if I let it warm up but changing the VE has no effect at idle or revving.lance wrote:Clifton,
