That looks like a valve, I don't think it has a cold or hot idle speed. It just opens and closes.

That would depend on a lot of variables, such as your engine displacement, and the size of vacuum source you have it connected to. But if it fully opens when cold, it should be close to the same rpm you would get if you disconnected the vacuum side while running.

Hi Fiat 132 (nice car!), I use the same valve and decided to 'test' it by putting a manual valve in front of it. I want to know if the engines 'needs' the extra air at different temperatures.

thanks man....
what did u find out.....i tried it and it seemed to need the extra air...
my idle speed is set to 850 but when i start it it idles around 700...i am sure it should be around 1100 with the valve opened...its giving me a hard time as sometimes the rpm drops and afterstart enrichment kicks in and the car runs very badly...until its fully warmed

i checked out your site....good stuff :D :D :D :D

tested it, the engine needs the air..... but I still have idling problems

i advanced the timing on my car which raised the idle speed...but it still goes into after start enrichment for no obvious reason

what is the result of that?
