Will coils be damaged by high heat areas?

I would like to retain the factory mounting position of my 4AGZE (toyota 1.6L supercharged motor) coils... but they are dangerously close to the downpipe of my turbo (which has a habit of melting everything around it.) and i would like to know if the radiant heat will damage them... (in terms of electrical performance, i know if the pipe starts melting them i need to do something)

wickedslowAE86,

Generally, coils can take some heat, but cooler is better, as they genertate some heat themselves and need to dissipate it.

So if your coil is near the exhaust, I would move it, or put a shield between them.
