rough idle, erratic 02 readings

G'day

I'm attempting to run ms-2, v3 board, 2.34 code and an innovate motorsports lc-1 wideband 02 sensor. I'm also using a ford tfi modual distributor and pwm idle valve.

The problem is i dont seam to be able to get it to run right. It wont idle properly, no matter how i change the tables up or down it doesn't make any difference. I'm sure i'm missing something but i dont know what.

The 02 readings seam to be all over the place. It jumps from rich to lean like a yo-yo.

Ive attached my latest datalogue of idle with a couple of blips of the throttle.

Heres the latest file i used to get it running, its hard to start, doesn't really like to run in warmup mode, the idle motor works but the idle is also eratic when in warmup mode.

Are you also controlling spark with MS? Post up your settings file.

Are you sure your spark is good? I am running a simular set up to you and have a simular sounding problem caused by intermitant spark at lo rpm. MS 2 coil driver seems to be the problem, though I don't know how to troublshoot it further. O2 reads way lean whenever the spark doesnt happen. Runs fine on stock ignition with ms controlling fuel.

No i'm not convinced that the spark is good. The reason i say this is that i cant tune out a cough and splutter when you first touch the throttle. I can drive the car just be nursing it along.

How do you tell if the spark is not doing what its supposed to do.

One thing you can do is load a spark table with all one value, say 10*. Then watch the timing mark at different rpm. I am trying to get my settings so the light reads a steady 10* and is a consistant strobe on the light.

I'll give that a go. What happens if it doesn't hold steady at 10* at different rpms? Where do i turn next?

I know when i had the timing light on it the other day it was jumping all over the place, but my spark table was all over the place as well.

My car seams to run between 17* at idle to about 25* at wot. Thats just to stop it pinging with 95octane fuel, thats what makes me think thats not right.
