hello i have been relucktant to post my problem geting my delorean running well because i thought i could get it myself. so far i have had my delorean idleing but would not rev just die . i have had it running at 1400 rpm and reving but no idle it would just die, this motor is also prone to fluding easy and that has made me tune in othe directions that were the wrong directions.i have eather been too rich or to lean.
my specs for the motor are:
2.8 liter 174 cid engine v6
hp is 156 @ 5700 rpm
tq is 173 ft lbs @ 3000 rpm
the specs for every thing else is
28 pound lucus fuel injectors
an iac motor from a chevy 2.8 liter v6
chevy water and air temp sensors
o2 sensor and throttle position sensor
the distribtor is the stock bosch distribtor from the delorean but with the mechanical vacume removed just the hall triger is retained and is set to 0 deg.
im also using the HEI 7-pin modual and wired like the instructions says.
the map sensor is from the megasquirt.
im using a megasquirt II on a 3.0 board
with version 2.35.abs file in the megasquirtII
and the 2.25 verision of megatune
also this is an odd firing motor.

i was hoping that maby with this this info i could get one of the megasquirt qoroos to make me a file that might be closer than what i have made becouse i keep going from one extreem to another with no luck
thanks for the help if any one wants to try.

i have a stock o2 sensor from a 2.8 liter v6 not a wide band and its also not heated.
yes i let the megasquirt II control my spark timming. weard thing is i can go from -43 to 43 and all in between with no change in behavior in the engine.
also my fingers are just about worn down to nubs turning the key so many times.

as soon as i can get it to some desent idleing again i will make a log.

I went that route at first. I gotta tell you, go out and get a wideband, or at least a heated narrow band sensor. Those single wires are no good at all for tuning. They don't read accurately when they're not hot, and you never know if they're hot or not.

I spent days fighting to get the bike ridable and got nowhere. This weekend I installed the LC-1, spent ten minutes revving the engine in neutral to tune as many bins as I could, then turned on autotune and went for a ride. Before I'd even gone a tenth of a mile, things were improving.

Trust me, spend the money on the wideband, or at least a heated narrow band. You won't regret it.

Say, can the MSnS-Extra code run a flux capacitor? What about the hover engines? :P

I`d second the wideband recomendation, makes it a lot easier to tune! As Mops said get the timing light in there and check it against some fixed angles to make sure you have accurate ignition timing.

Excelent car to Squirt, I`m sure I`ve read a few others are running MS?

i was wondering if i can run my tack in parallel with the MegaSquirt or does it have to be completey seperate form the tack signal from the distribtor.
thanks

My tach signal comes off of the coil negative, and it goes to both the MegaSquirt and the stock instruments on the bike.

So you should be fine.

In that car to do this really proper you can actually ditch the "old version" PRV V6 engine which is the 70:s version of the same engine that´s placed in modern Peugeots and Citroëns with 24Valve V6 engines.

On that "powerplant" you get all the useful bits of missing teeth wheel decoder ,sensors and other bits and pieces. And with stock ECU the engine produces a bit over 200hp. They´re easily "trimmed" to around 250hp.

Just a tip 8).
