I thought the sharing thing was the main idea here!
 I learn so much from this that I'm eager to put something of value back in.

Yep, the VR sensor is std Rover (Lucas - Prince of Darkness actually) which is pretty much "standard" in that it has two wires (blue and red) and puts out an AC signal increasing in voltage as the revs pick up.
