hi

thanx to the help of other members of this forum, my car is almost drivable...
the biggest obstacle stopping my car being a daily driver now... is it doesn't wnana start after sitting for a few hrs...

i battery is not draining.... when i get in the car, it's holding a steady 12 volts... and i would be cranking the car ( stopping every few seconds) until the battery dies.... then i'll have to boast it with another car.... and the car will start on the first crank when it's connected to another car...

i've tried putting a new battery in... but it's the same....
i've also tried playing with different settings in MT (afterstart, crank, warmup) and none of those helped...

can anyone please help me?

thanx in advance
jeff

When you are cranking what is your battery voltage?

You may have a problem with the alternator not charging or you may have an issue with a parasitic drain that is effecting the battery.

If your voltage drops too low when cranking then the MS will not work.

the battery voltage hovers around 10 to 12 volts for the first 15-20 seconds.... then the voltage low enough where the MS relay starts ticking... and that's when i know i need to get help from another car....

the battery is draining @ 20mA... and from what i've learned... n e thing under 40mA is fine....
the battery is charging... cuz after a drive around the block, the car can turn off and start on the first crank..!! and it will start within a few hrs ....

i suspect it's something wrong with my coldstart/coldcrank settings... cuz i live in toronto... and it get's REALLY cold @ nite....

thanks for your help...

check the voltage at the megasqurt , make sure your not getting any unwanted volt drops due to a bad connectio or earth strap, and keep playing with the warmup bins..youll get there eventually.

is it possible to have enough voltage to turn the starter... but not enough voltage to engage the gear?
