The MS2 on a V2.2 PCB will control fuel only very nicely. What gives you the impression that it's not possible?

I have an installation where it works perfect with MS1 and not with MS2 and also MS2 installation says that it isn't possible (Of course just in ignition case, I think).

MS2 it a little more sensitive to the tach signal but it also has lots of built in filters to tune out noise. See general settings lag factors.

Got that rpm measurement working by tuning "lag factors" or as we call it in our ECU - filter constant.
