MicroSquirt.com read only forum (Jan.15,2018)

I'm attemping to get my MSII sitting along side my Ford EEC-IV in my australian ford (doubt that makes a difference) reading sensors but not controlling ignition SPOUT or injector banks...

I have my IAC, CLT, TPS and oxygen sensor lines split.. obvioulsy vref isnt hooked up as it gets it from the ford EEC IV...

Everythings fine until i want the MSII to read the PIP signal from the TFI.. if i share the PIP signal between the 2 the MSII reads the PIP signal fine but seems to load down the signal and the Ford EEC-IV loses the signal and runs in Limp home mode.

I've got a transistor hooked up which switches +12V to the MSII from the PIP signal.. N5555 or something, it was a while ago..

For a while it seemed to work but (both ecus read it fine) but i've noticed that when i hook it all up the car again falls into limp home mode... but the MSII still reads the signal from the transistor fine..

Now my question...

Does anyone know whats going on or how I can get around this??

Can i make the Ford EEC-IV and the MSII share the +12V signal from thej transistor switches by the PIP signal.....


Hoping to hear from someone cause basically i've got a msii sitting there doing nothing and i can't progress at all.. sucks hey!

First, do not cross post. This is not allowed.

Second, when there's issues with sharing a tach signal, the most commnon solution is to add a resistor between 1K and 100K Ohms to the tach input line to MegaSquirt.

This is simple and cheap, and there's no switching issues or other compilations.

Some people use a 100K pot as variable resistor, tune it until it works, then replace it with an equivalent resistor.
