Any idea on the eta of production units? This is exactly what I need to fuel inject my 150cc buggy.

Any idea on the eta of production units?
Phillip,

I would expect to see the production MicroSquirt released before summer. Bruce has said
"The status of MicroSquirt is that I have the first prototype board completely tested. In the next few weeks, I will get a beta run of the board made up, and I will have a very limited number of boards for people to test on vehicles. Once this is complete, then MicroSquirt can go to production."

While the board and a few components are new, most of the circuits are known quantities, so the 'de-bugging' ought to be fairly straightforward. Given that the first unit is already tested, and that beta units are to be distributed shortly, I would guess production ought to be able to commence by mid-March, if all goes well. Allowing some time for hiccups and production scheduling, an April/May timetable for release seems 'doable'.

The holdup with microsquirt now is that we are trying to work out how to implement a second spark output. This will require changes to the hardware and software, neither of which are trivial. Nevertheless, we hope to limit the delay to about 1 month, so a May release seems doable at this time.

Thanks for the info. It will give me time to gather the other components needed for my f.i. install.

Al,

Are these changes going to be applicable to MS-II and V3.0 board? If so, is there going to be some compatibility with how MSnS-e implements the second ignition output?

I am going to try to keep the code in microsquirt the same as in MS II. But to make it work on the V3 board hardwarewise will require some mods. At some point Bruce may incorporate the change in a new V3 board - but this will be low priority. The regular MS II is intended for use with the router board. The main reason we are making this change in microsquirt is that a second board is not practical on a bike.

So the Microsquirt will have two high current drivers? Guess I need to update my FAQ list.

That's the right way not only for bikes. :D
With the second IGN channel no external module and additional connectos are needed. I think everybody will accept a delay.
