peter.blais,

Autotune will stay 'outside the area' if the EGO feedback is not operating, so you have to be in closed loop. That, in turn, depends on things like the coolant temp being above the activation point, the accel not being invoked, the rpm above the rpm activation, etc.

Sorry to be so thick on the Autotune thing. I'm getting the "outside window" message too.
MS 2.2 MT 2.98
My EGO settings on the enrichments page are:

EGO Type: Narrow Band
EGO switch (v): 0.451
Coolant temp activation: 160
Ign. per step: 16
EGO step (%): 1
EGO +- limit %: 15
EGO active above RPM: 1300

If I understand you correctly, I can make sure coolant temp is activating and reduce the active RPM to something lower than my desired idle speed and that should get me into the tuning window. Is that right?

are there any advantadges to using auto tune (besides watching it real time) opposed to MS-II's automatic mixture control set to flash update? are the algorithms the same?

I'm a newbie and no expert, but the custom.ini file has high and low parameters that DO NOT show up in the MSII software GUI.

For instance, you have an active above RPM as well as and ACTIVE BELOW RPM. The latter has to be adjusted in the custom.ini file. Same for MAP. It has an active below in the GUI, but an ACTIVE ABOVE in the custom.ini as well.

The custom.ini is in the mtcfg subdirectory in Car1 in MSII directory.

You can change the parameters there.

I'm not sure how to get this to work with the MSII though. I've found no directions on any of this. Just snippets on the board.

Good luck.
