Yes, for testing purposes, where the injector is held open for long periods of time, you would not want to use 12v without some kind of cooling aparatus or PWM built-in to the test rig...
I missed this earlier:
colin john king wrote:Best answer is to test one injector by powering it with 12 volts for 30 sec and measuring fuel amount injected.
I didn't realize you were
testing the injectors, sorry for the confusion.
I don't know, however, if 5v will be enough to get the injectors open under the pressures of the fuel system. The PWM code applies 12v for a short burst, then modulates it to acheive a lower holding field... perhaps you could open the injectors then charge the fuel system.
It would be neat for someone to make a code addition for an injector test mode. There are many instances where you want to see if all the injectors are firing... Oh Phill...!

well finally i found that nissan 200sx s14 injectors will fit into the zetec fuel rail, the 200sx being 375cc as far as i am aware, although the connector plugs are different, bought all the fuel injectors and the fuel rail off ebay, 30 quid can't be bad, i will create a website with pics of hand built plenum chamber for turbo use, running on the fiat twin cam, by for now mat.
zetec-s injectors 180-190cc/min

Thanks for the info!

I've just bought all the fuel injectors and the fuel rail off ebay too!

Waiting delivery. Do you know is that injectors ( Nissan 200SX) are low or high impedance?

I've got a strange feeling the are low impedance,
Phase 2 200sx (1999-2000) are high impedance, the earlier ones, I think are low-z, see you injector part numer , if is 5208001 then it is low-z.
You can always measure you resistance, anything over 12ohms is regarded are high impedance.
All the best

Does anyone know the flow rate of injectors for the 4.0 Supercharged V8 Jaguar XKR engine?
I have recently bought some, but have no specs. They are stamped Ford (Ford engine I guess in the XKR) and are DENSO injectors, the latest 12 hole disc type (post1999)?
They were being sold as 345cc/min, I cant find any info at all on the net to confirm this..
