You're right about wanting to have the max VE table value close to 255. In my example above, the 140 value was the max VE value in the table before I lowered the ReqFuel from 7 to 3.9. When MegaTune regenerates the VE table using the new ReqFuel value, it convers the original 140 VE table entry to a value of 251 in the new VE table.
Again, this is only useful for folks running the higher pulse resolution chip (e.g. MegaSquirt II).
