Since i read this and looking at the diagram. I am working on my brother 92 dodge stealth. I plan on using the HEI-7 module. Will I have to use the msd 6a? I saw the first diagram and seen that the msd is not hooked up. So this can be run with out the msd box? Whats the avantage of using just the HEI-7 or the HEI-7 and the msd 6a? I really like to know this thanks

The reason for using the hei-7 is for a couple of reasons. Mainly it is for the ac-dc converter in the unit for the vr sensor signal. Secondly, hei-7 modules came installed in many gm distributors from the factory, so it just makes the wiring easier since some of it is already done.

So i can just install the hei-7 and don't have to put the msd box in right?

You don't have to use the msd unit at all. The reason you might want to use it though is that it could help with tuning the engine (especially at idle) because of the multiple sparks along with all the other benefits of a high power ignition. Which version board are you using? The reason I'm using the hei module is because I have a 2.2 board. I believe that the 3.0 board has a vr conditioner built in and so it doesn't need an hei module.
