350 TPI w/supercharger

Post by olsteve »

I have been running MS on a mildly built TPI 350 chevy. Until now I have just been using MS for fuel and it is working great. I am in the process of adding a Procharger supercharger with around 9psi of boost. I also want to be able to control spark. I have downloaded the latest -extra firmware and megatune. My question is.... does anyone have a similar setup working that I could look at the .msq to get an idea of wether I am going to blow my engine up or not. The biggest thing I am worried about is getting an initial spark table. I tried the .xls guestimator that is here in the forums but it doesn't look quite right to me (35 deg at idle). It also worries me that I don't have a knock sensor to tell if I am damaging the engine. The next thing that I would like to see an example of is a AFR table. I kind of have an idea but am wondering what is working for others. I do understand that I will need to tune for my specific engine and that someone else's table won't work perfect for my engine. But, I would like to get a starting point to work from and not worry as much about wrecking something right away. So, if anyone has a working TPI 350 setup working with fuel and spark could I have a look? It would be even better if someone is boosted and has a working setup. Thanks for the help.

Here's my MSQ, it's for 24s9 extra code, MT717.

Its for a 350 chevy, port injectors (60lb) , 9.25:1Cr, 6-7psi boost. Hei dizzy.

Ive never been over 150kpa, so the values above that are (safe?) estimates.

It has dual spark tables, which are very similar - it just pulls a few degrees out in boost. I flip the tables when running our std UK petrol.

I would consider the ignition tables quite safe, as I'm running a bone stock engine and moderate compression.

They are also pulled back quite a bit because my inlet temps used to be quite high (like 70-90'c in boost) - but ive solved that issue now. So I will probably use the dual tables feature to experiment with dialing some advance back in.

Note The overboost protection value needs increasing as its at 150KPA.

The trick is to gradually increase revs and boost and keep an eye on things - and make adjustments.

Try to track down Brad J, he's got a similar setup. (were both using converted edelbrock manifolds)

Eliot.
