Stuck in Injector test mode.

Post by mark »

I bought a MS V3.83 and have installed it on a Z1 900 Kawasaki, it has a DINA S electronic aftermarket ignition, I've connected all the relevant senses, injectors etc., and also installed TunerStudio MS.
Apart from no tac signal, all the senses/fuel pump appear to be working, I went into (Injector Test Mode) to check but on returning back to normal mode an error appeared (Serial failure, unable to get 3 pages of data, App will go off line, fix connection problems) so each time I activate MS3 the injectors still run in test mode. and T.S. goes offline, I've checked connections, restarted T.S. several times, but no joy.
Can anybody help?
Cheers
Mark.

I had the same problem and could only cure it by reflashing the MS3. I learnt quickly not to try that the injector test ever again.
I also found out that changing the injector timing angle corrupted the ECU, requiring a reflash. I am quite adept at reflashing the MS3 now :D

This also happened to me last night

I had to re load the firmware as suggested

Any ideas of why this happens and how to stop it from happening again?

Hi agin Mark, apparently there's a slight bug in some firmwares, as I've read elsewhere

"Note that in some versions of the code, the program will not come out of injector test mode, unless you change the number of squirts to 0 while the 'test' is running. This then stops the injectors firing. Then you can change the mode to normal"

Hope this helps you or any others.
Mike
