tuning tables

Post by sled junkie »

I am a newbe with this and I am trying to get everything set up so I can start my motor. under the Basic Tables tab all the selections(ve,afr, and spark advance tables) are greyed out. Should I not be able to access these tables?

I have all my sensors connected and calibrated. I can't get the motor to start. the microsquirt is just controlling fuel right now. I thought I would get that sorted out first before switching the ignition over. It does not seem like the injectors are spraying any fuel. I can take the plugs out and dump fuel in the cyls and the motor will start briefly until that fuel is burnt up. If I get it started like that and open the throttle it just bogs and then dies.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Duane

just an update. I have run the injector test mode and the injectors are firing in the test mode. I can manually ground the injectors and squirt each injector a couple of times and then it will start but only untill the fuel is burnt up. In ve analyze live I can't change any of the cells??? :RTFM:
I can export the ve table but it won't let me import any tables???

thanks,

Duane

I have just attached my msq

Duane,

You will need to tell us what code you are running, and post an MSQ of your settings, as well as a datalog while cranking.

Common reasons for not starting include not setting the ECU_type (see the red text here: http://www.useasydocs.com/details/usv3code.htm) or not having 12V power to MegaSquirt or the injectors while cranking. The cranking pulse widths need to be tuned, start reading here: http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/tune.htm#howto Your issue could also be that the PWM% is too low (this is covered in the link), the warm-up enrichment is too low (or too high), or several other things. So read the entire section, try whatever makes sense to you, and let us know what you find.

For more background, see this page: http://www.megamanual.com/begintuning.htm

here is the latest msq

I am using a microsquirt msII v3.77

I have made some changes to the settings and now have access to the tables. I have made up ve, afr, sparkadvance tables and written them to the ecu. I still can't get it to fire up. I have noticed that ocationally the rpm count goes quiet high. usually it pulls over at 4-500 rpm. I have noticed that it spikes up to 2000+ at times.???
