Microsquirt w/ Hayabusa questions
and slick chassis, sidewinder pipe, no air box, currently running a
PC3USB. The bike runs a cooling system with no radiator, just a small
tube.
I would like to switch to Mega/microsquirt to simplify the entire system.
There are to many boxes/wires and I feel that a simpler system would be
the way to go.
So my question to you is...Could I run Megasuirt to control both my
injectors and ignition system, using wasted spark, running just my
factory crank sensor (24-1), TPS, air temp sensor, and the map sensor. I would also like to run a
wide band O2 sensor to set up autotune. After the bike is tuned, I would like to remove the air temp and map sensors. I would like the map to not be modified by these sensors as it makes the bikes inconsistent (proven with hacked factory ecus). I would not need a start up map, i would just richen the lower RPM range for start up. As it is a dragbike, im really on concerned with WOT.
Is there anything Im missing with this setup? Does it sound like it
will work?
I would go the Plug N Play route, however this would really simply my
wiring. The wiring harness is already at a bare minimum and its still
to much.
Another reason I want to do this is to make the bike more consistent,
as it is a bracket bike. The builder of my chassis, FBR Shop, has said
that these bikes with a PC3 and factory ecu have 1/4 mile times that
vary up to a tenth. They need several of the sensors disabled or a set
value put into the ECU to stop them from trying to correct the fuel
map. FBR shop also sells their own electronic package, but its $1500+.
I think the megasquirt would be the way to go for both cost and
simplicity.
Tell me your thoughts.
here is where I learned that I could drive 4 coils in a wasted spark
setup using only the crank trigger wheel.
http://www.microsquirt.info/dualspark.htm
go down to 3. a.M-N crank wheel
and was going to use this:
http://www.microsquirt.info/Bosch_211.htm
to drive the 4 stick coils.
Then i did some more research and found the 4 output coil from diyautotune, so I may go that route.
One more quick question. how hard is it or is it even possible to set up launch control on microsquirt?
thank you very much.
