The two boards interconnect using a Samtec TSM surface-mount header mounted on the underside of the utility board. The two boards are held together using 4-40 threaded M-F standoffs, 7/16".
The purpose of these two boards is to facilitate simple engine testing and experimentation. Its a very inexpensive way to get a MicroSquirt Module up and running. There is no case for the setup (yet), but one could easily mount this within a watertight enclosure. It would also be possible to conformal coat the boards to make them weather-tight. One may be able to even cast them in clear potting compound to make a MicroSquirt Brick!
