Gs 1000 with injection
My projekt is to tune my `78 Suzuki GS 1000 Bike with EFI.
I got the throttle bodies from a GSXr 1000 that seem to fit well, modifications of course.
But now i do not Know if a microsquirt is the right choice.
I want as less sensors as possible, which ones do i need?
How much pressure the inline fuel pump must have? And do i have to use a Pressure regulator?
I`m thankfull for any information!

Re: Gs 1000 with injection
As I am feeling kind
First off are you doing fuel only and using stock ignition?
If not what trigger wheel do you have? Does it conform to the versions that MicroSquirt can cater for?
Sensors, you'll need a throttle position sensor (TPS), probably comes with your throttle bodies, inlet manifold pressure sensor (MAP), coolant temperature sensor (CLT) and air temperature sensor (IAT) as a bare minimum.
Fuel pressure depends on your injectors, but a minimum of 2 bar 30 psi is normal, and a pressure regulator will be on your throttle body injector set up, but you'll need a return pipe back to the fuel tank, and a better than stock GS1000 fuel filter.
Hope this helps.
Re: Gs 1000 with injection
Of course i didn`t read the manual yet
In the msruns.com can`t find my bike, so i´m the first? Wow.
I think i´m doing fuel only, i want to keep the stock ignition. Guess there is no trigger weel.
Am i right, you think the fuell pressure regulator is already on the throttle bodies? ( as the TPS i hope)
So i only need the Fuell pump.
Coolant temperature sensor is a problem, the bike is Aircooled.
Perhaps picking up the temperature on the cylinder-head?
Also,I wanted to run without a big manifold-case, as for "open" inlet.

Air cooled, you can use head based sensor, but you'll find tapping into an oil line will be easier. My throttle bodies have regulators in them, and so do quite a few others, they aren't hard to spot. More research required
You will need a fuel return back to the tank...check out turbocharged GS1000s, as they will have done all this before you, and you might be able to mod the fuel tap.
