Injector Staging ??

Post by matego »

I am working on fuel injecting my 1997 ZX7R. I do not have a cam sensor, the ignition is wasted spark. Will I have low RPM issued from the injectors not firing when the intake stroke happens? I have not tried anything yet, this is just something I have been thinking about. Maybe there is an adjustment in the software, I really dont know. Sorry, I am a noob.

P.S., my ignition wheel only has 3 teeth. 2 very large and 1 small tooth. Am I going to have to put a larger missing tooth wheel on for better resolution?

You may need a slightly richer idle, but that's typically the only issue you'd see from batch fire vs sequential.

That trigger wheel arrangement is not supported in the current firmware, so you'd probably want to swap to a more conventional missing tooth wheel.

Thanks Matt for the quick response. I am probably going to get everything going on the factory ignition system and switch over once I get all the bugs out on the fuel delivery system.
