Small engine injector?

Post by ApplesVolvo »

Hi all
I'm interested in doing a small size engine injector: single cylinder, two stroke, 200cc.

Anyone know what injector would work and where to get one?

any leads appreciated
thank you!

What kinda wattage output does your alternator make? Probably the biggest obstacle is finding a suitable fuel pump that is not too big and draw too much.

What do you figure the horsepower of your engine is, 20 to 30hp ? This will determine how big of an injector you will need.

What kind of bike is it? I plan at some point, this spring convert my sx 125 to FI. I have allready converted my DR 350 to FI using a MSI ver 2.2 which came out pretty good. Much better than the CV carb it had.

What did you use for a fuel pump? Throttlebody? What do you estimate your horsepower output is?

Look on ebay for a fuel pump off a Peugeot Jetforce scooter. These are small fuel pumps that will be okay for a 200cc engine.

Other sources include some of the Honda scooters. They're all 'intank' pumps, so you'll either need a swirl pot or a modified fuel tank to incorporate them.

For an injector, you should be looking for injectors off of small cars. A smart car would yield a good injector, as the capacity is 700cc over three cylinder, but you may need more fuel for a two-stroke.
