GSXR Fuel line quick connect couplings
I am looking for leads on sourcing the type of quick-connector found on modern EFI systems, particularly bikes. I am setting up the fuel supply on my microsquirt project and am using a GSXR pump and TB's, but the hose is the wrong length.
The couplings on the hose are moulded plastic with a seal inside, while on the pump/fuel rail there is simply a metal tube with a slight ridge around it. A plastic clip fits onto this ridge, the coupling slides down the tube and the clip locates into slots in the coupling thereby retaining it. Very compact and quick. The hose seems to be moulded on, as there is no clamp/retainer of any sort.
I have seen what looks like the same type of fittings on a fuel filter I saw recently, from some sort of Daewoo / GM thing, so hopefully this is some kind of pretty standard automotive product.
On the fittings I have the only identifier is what must be a company logo bearing the letters RI, on the other side it says PA12. I have googled and cannot find anything at all, aside from identifying PA12 as a hose sizing by the look of it.
Any leads?
TIA
Steve

Dear pgsmick,
Thanks for this information, I just happened to look back at the microsquirt site and saw your reply a few months after you sent it. By co-incidence, I also learned of the Dorman products from another person not long ago, but you got me on track to find them - fantastic, thanks!
I ended up getting them from the following place:
http://www.midwayautosupply.com/c-274-f ... ctors.aspx
I got the straight and elbow connectors, and the metal line repair sections (with the swaged end on them) for soldering into my pump, which needs a straight out connector. The parts arrived yesterday, the only hassle was that they were having trouble with the paypal linkup on their website, and didn't sell to non-US using normal credit card. So I had to get a friend in the states to buy it for me and forward it on, worked fine though. I got 10 of each, otherwise the shipping would have been about 10 times the parts cost.
This should allow me to finish my fuel system now, and meanwhile the project has advanced a long way, and I'm getting towards the point of starting to wire up. Bear in mind I had NO sensors and the pump install was complex because it didn't fit in my tank.
I ended up not choosing a microsquirt, mainly because of the continual delays in production. That's not a criticism, I understand the MS project is not a normal commercial arrangement. I also had the problem of needing three ignition outputs, requiring an EDIS or some such thing, which didn't really appeal and produced yet more packaging problems in my tight install.
But in any case I'm hoping for a fire-up within the next month or so.
Thanks again for the pointer to the Dorman products, they are perfect.
Cheers
Steve
