Injector materials

Quick Q for those in the know. Would it be possible to use normal injectors to inject water in to the inlet? Is anyone doing this currently? Hows about a standard 5th/cold start injector?

Most injectors will corrode very quickly. I was wondering about Flex Fuel injectors - if they are stainless steel to deal with the high-concentration of ethanol, they might work, right?

Hmm good point, they might work. Maybe if you run a high enough water/ethanol concentration a normal one wont corrode?

I've used two cold start injectors with water. I ran the setup for a month or so, then left it alone, just stopped using it. After six months (maybe more) I tried it again and both injectors were still working perfectly. No brown fog, no funny spray patterns, nothing. They worked great on 50psi from a strong washer pump, though the dual-perpendicular-discharge 3S-FE (late 80s Camry four-cylinder) one produces a much finer fog than the traditional inline style injector.

Just my two cents.
