just like the title says : can a 40-1 wheel be used for edis?

i have a couple of oem ford wheels that are 40-1 not the typical 36-1 wheel.

No it cannot.

EDIS requires the use of a crank driven 36-1 wheel.

Other wheel patterns will not work.

(Ok, a few people have used a cam driven 72-1-1, but that isn't advised really)
