Coil triggering MS thru VR circuit

I'm trying different triggering techniques as I do new projects. This one will begin as MS1-v3, 029r, fuel only, triggering off the coil through the VR circuit. Later it will be VR through VR but for now I'm looking for any tips to get it up on the coil- trigger input as this is a daily driver and can't loiter in the driveway.

Anyone with suggestions beyond the manual for VR circuit adjustments or problems I might encounter?

Not sure if anyone has tried it, but please do!
Bruce posted a while back asking people to try the VR interface for everything - if it works then it can become the one and only interface and the opto circuit could be removed from the instructions (making things simpler for installations) and possibly dropped on a future board.
