Warm restart problem on a Turbo PGT

Post by rck »

This car was previously running correctly for many months. Now, it will not restart when warm. It also occasionally dies at idle and can be rstarted if cold, but not if warm. An IAC (idle valve) problem or a tps problem has been suggested, but I have some datalogs, and was wondering if anybody could help me narrow down or possibly repair this problem. One note of interest is that the duty cycle gauge is at 8 billion percent and is glowing red on the megatune display. The car has coil packs from a ford explorer, and was tuned by ryanpzz. All sensors feed into megasquirt, there is no OBD system left. Thanks in advance for the help.

rck,

One thing to look at when this happens is the hot cranking pulse width. Often people have this a bit too long from tuning in mild weather, then a hot shut down makes it imposiible to restart.

So you might look at is lowering your hot cranking pulse width by about 5% or even 10%.

I have megatune 2.25b. In the settings tab under enrichments, is the hot cranking pulse width the cranking pulse at 170*F? If so, this is set at .1. Should i change it to .09?

A point of interest: When I open megatune, it says that the controller code version does not match signature in Megasquirt-I.ini.
Expected "0x14" (found in ini file)
Received '''' (from controller)

Table corruption may occur, this is usually a very serious problem.
Terminate megatune now?

I am currently getting the code form the previous owner via email, should that solve the problem?

Is using megatune after this message shows going to result in damage? I think that the problem stated by this message is preventing me from accessing my settings. I would like to first make sure that I can adjust settings with no damage before really attempting it. Again, any help is greatly appreciated, I really need this car repaired ASAP.
