noobie trying to get it right the first time.

Post by randomtask1 »

hey all. ive just got my ms2 and my jumper harness done. im trying to get MS2 to run on my MR2 with a 4agze motor. i want to do a plug n play like james1. ive read throught all the post i could find on dual wheel set ups. it seems that most are for ms1 and MSnSe.

from what i can tell, i can run my 24 tooth NE signal into the TachIn using the Vr curcuit. then i have to splice the G1 and G2 together and use a HEI 4 pin to condition it. then i run this into pin 11 of U1, the MS2 duaghter card.

does that sound right? thamks for the help.

It seems you've already made a critical error.

The MSII daughtercard and its associated firmware does not have wheel decoding software required to make any sense out of your crank/cam wheels.

All the documentation referrs to MegaSquirt & Spark-Extra firmware on the original MegaSquirt processor becuase that is the firmware/hardware that will support it.

I believe the development of wheel decoder software has been offloaded to the routerboard, though I'm nearly positive that our resident software guru, jsmcortina, has done some work in that area.

Perhaps he can comment.
