how do i use the spare output to trip a relay

Post by shize »

can anyone explain how this spare output works in a bit more detail than the spare output page? specifically rpm triggering with megatune 2.25+
#1 what iac connection/wire do i use? (iac#A or iac#B)
#2 where do i find IdlCtl?
#3 is there an explanation of trigger values somewhere?
#4 there was no explanation of the power on value setting in the help page@ http://www.megasquirt.info/ms2/spare.htm

Thanks in advance

shize,

For the spare outputs on MS-II, you need to test your setup. For example, you can use either IAC#A or IAC#B, but they will require inverted settings, since when one is one the other is off and vice versa.

To set IdlCtrl to zero, go to 'Settings/Idle Control/Algorithm' and set it to 'None'.

The power on value is the value the port is set to when the MegaSquirt is first powerted on, before any conditions are applied.

In all cases, you should test the output on the bench to make sure it does what you want, before trying it in a vehicle.

Lance.
