NB02 not displaying

Post by johnwhitneyfiat »

In MegaTune 2.25 beta I am not getting any readings form the o2 sensor. On the guage screen the first green circle is on and below it, it say that "No file loaded". What do I have to do to get the O2 file loaded into the software.

John,

"No file loaded" means you haven't loaded a MSQ file, and is not particularly related to the O2 issue.

If you have a wideband sensor and MS-II, have you calibrated the AFR table in MegaTune?

Does the EGO respond on the stim?

Lance.

I also have no idea what the MSQ file is and where to find it.

You really need to read more in the megamanual, MS is not TOO tricky but you need to study the manual a lot, and after that study it once again.

O2 still not working

Post by johnwhitneyfiat »

I have studied the manual and for the Megasquirt using a V2.2 board, 2.98 softare not MegasquirtII. I am using the MegaTune 2.25. In the manual there does not seem to be any reference to the MSQ file. I have done all setting going page by page and saving a MSQ file, but still have nothing. I have rechecked the controller on the sim and it works properly. I have rewired the sensor and used a new one. I have also used the MSconfig and every thing looks right for a NBO2. Any ideas on where to look? I am out of ideas. Every this else seems to be working fine. Is there a way to check the sensor and controller together?

All the changes and settings that you make in MegaTune must be
"Burned to the Controller" (MS chip) in order for them to be
"remembered" by MS the next time you power it up .

After you do that you can save this particular setup with a name
that you create , and in a folder you select , on your hard drive .
Maybe you just haven't been paying attention to where the file is
being saved on your hard drive and under what name .
The default name for a MSQ file is-- todays date and time "dot" MSQ .
You can change it to anything you like as long as you leave
the .msq extension on the end .
The default folder is Car-1 , do you know where this folder is ?
If you are not computer savvy you should play around with
"Windows Explorer" (NOT "My Computer") , learn how to use it ,
it's your friend .

This is so you can take a setup that works OK and save it .
Now you can make all sorts of changes to your settings and then
burn them to MS and drive around for a while and see if the changes
do what you wanted , if they don't , and you just make a complete
mess of things , you can easily go back to "Square One" ,
just open the MSQ file that you saved and hit "Burn to Controller"
now all your settings are set back to the way it was when you
saved that file , way convenient !!!

You can also save a special setup for getting your
Emmisions Inspection and when you're done you can just
open and burn your original settings right back they way they were .

If you start MegaTune and it can't comunicate with MS , there is no
information for MT to work with , it has to either get the setup
automatically from MS or you have to manually open a
MSQ File that has previously been saved on your hard drive .
