Having been able to measure cranking pulses, idle pulses when cold and and when warm (with the car running on the original ECU) did help.
Â
Its late at night at the bottom of Africa so I could not do much tuning but already I've got idle AFR from below 10 (misfiring) up to around 13 at idle - although she did develop a serious idle hunt just before I called it a night. It was interesting to note how the idle speed climbed every time I made it more lean (moving closer to 14.7)
Â
She does seem to start quicker than with the OEM ECU but I do believe the OEM ECU allows cranking without fuel to enable oil pressure to build before supplying fuel.

Thanks to all who helped this newby get to this point!
Â
Kind regards
Philip
