The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.
This forum is for discussion of MicroSquirt (TM) from Bowling and Grippo. The MicroSquirt information site is at www.usEasyDocs.com

I finally have my 1983 Porsche 911SC up and running via Megasquirt II version 3.0. I am running rich at idle so I am going to start tuning this afternoon. I am currently running a MAP from another Porsche owner that was designed for Alpha should I stay in Alpha mode and do my tuning or is there a advantage to speed density? I have a vacuum line running to the ECU and I have ITB throttle bodies. I currently have a solid stable idle but she's rich. I do have a wideband O2 sensor.
If you are starting from scratch, always start with Speed Density. Never start with someone elses map unless you experanced at setting up fuel injection systems and understand what every cell is realy doing. Use mostly MAPDot as a basis for AE triggering. As a hint on setting up ITBs on the ve table set up the VE table with about 1/2 of the rows covering between 80 and 100 kpa (assuming you are near sea level) as that is where most of the action will most likely be happening.
Well I switched to speed density and fooled around with warmup enrichment and then did some idle speed adjustments. My air fuel ratio at idle is around 14.9 and she seems to run pretty good, off idle has a few soft spots but I'll continue to adjust it.
