firefox, I unplugged the TPS, and it made no difference at all. Still misfires under load..
Foundsoul, I think the noise you are hearing is probably the driver's side downpipe tapping against the K-member. Yesterday I noticed it had rotated a bit in the v-band clamp. I have so very little clearance for the downpipe on the driver's side that if it moves any, it hits something lol
This past weekend I found yet another plug wire that had burned through the side and was arcing to the exhaust manifold. I decided that was enough with POS stock wires, so I tossed them and put on a set of 11mm Moroso Blue Max wires. They were cut to fit, so I spent a few hours Saturday getting them to the right length and making brackets to hold them away from the manifolds as best I could. The misfire problem was a lot better after I installed them, but it is still there. Indicates to me that I am on the right trail chasing a spark issue.... I guess the next step is to install a MSD blaster 3 coil and toss this old stock E-core coil.
Just for the heck of it, I played with the dwell settings at idle. There was pretty much no difference between 50% and 75%. Then I set it for fixed, and tried 3.0 and 4.0 ms. Car run pretty rough and wouldn't rev very well in neutral. In one of the other threads, someone with an MSD box was running his dwell at 1.5 or 2.0 and said it worked well.. makes me wonder about my coil. Primary resistance is 0.5 ohms and secondary is 8.69 Kohms. Primary side sounds a bit low, but not all that bad.
Also got a pretty big aluminum radiator installed from some sort of race car. A buddy of mine used to work at a local race shop, and he got the radiator for me. Was setup for a Chevy, so it took some work to swap the inlet and outlet for a Ford, but I got it on there, TIG'd up, and it works well. Car runs much cooler, but it still needs a fan.. I'm working on that now.
My laptop is new enough so that it doesn't have a 9 pin serial port on the back. All it has is USB, so I have to use a serial to USB adapter to connect to MS. I want to set the communication timer interval lower to get better datalogs, but if I do, either MegaTune locks up or my laptop crashes. Anyone know if a bluetooh setup would be more reliable and communicate faster? Also 9600 is the fastest I can connect.. anything higher just doesn't communicate at all. :-\
