Computer Froze

For what it is worth, my laptop froze up while I was attempting to tune my new MegaSquirt. I think that it suffered an internal fault due to excessive heat because I had it laying down flat upon my car seat. Now, I keep a space between the seat and the laptop for air ventilation.

At the same time ...

AHA! Found the answer to spark advance!

:D Now I know why I was not able to get any spark advance. The cable wiring instructions that I used specifically stated not to connect a wire between pins 36 between the relay board and MS DB-37s. So, I did not!

The specific instructions for EDIS state that the SAW signal comes out of MS-II on DB ...

Also, the MS-II assembly manual states that ...

Ignition Advance How TO

Hi,

I got my ACVW to fire up on my MS-II, V3 with relay board and was attempting to tune the enrichments when I decided to check the ignition advance. My timing light showed no advance from the base setting of 7 degrees, regardless of RPM. MegaTune shows ignition advance, but I understand that this ...

 Having given the shortcut question some more thought, I recalled that the original desktop shortcut was in my Recycle Bin. I restored it and it opened up MegaTune just fine. So, I do not know what the problem was, but now everything works. I also recall reading about another installer ...

:D Checking the shortcut properties, it contains my path to MegaTune, which is "C:\Program Files\MegaSquirt\MegaTune2.25b715"

When I tried to open MegaTune prior to deleting the shortcut, I received an error message that referred to a problem with MegaSquirt-II.ini. From this I assumed, maybe ...

:D I was having trouble with the dialog boxes dropping down on MT, and the mtCfg would not open. After spending a couple of weeks searching the posts and messing around with my laptop, everything works great now. Generally, here is what I found, in hopes that it will assist someone else having ...
