I suppose it depends on the vacume advance. They are limited in there amount of movement no matter how much vacume is supplied. If it is only capable of say 6° total then that is it.

I would think that most are disconnected on race cars just because it is just one more moving part to fail and it ...

At what RPM and load do you seem to getting the greatest amount of ping? Does it seem to be under light loads during cruise or heavy high rpm loads?

I have shared VR inputs between a megasquirt and a toyota ecu, it works fine! Just use a occilliscope to insure the waveform hasn't been modified any or the amplitude of the waveform isn't to low. So far I have done two vehicles this way, furthermore the megasquirt triggers the ignitor well enough ...

Closest you could do would be an identical sensor mounted X degrees out and set up MS to use that.

Can't do that as the wheel is mounted inside the timng cover so i would need another boss in the block for the sensor. Guess I'm going to have to deal with what I have. Thanks for the help on this ...

This should work well for you. I build fuelrails for Porsche 924 CIS conversions and also modified injector cups. Not all injector o-rings are the same size. .540" may be a little large for some but if you check different suppliers you should find some that fit snug.

Set it up as a wheel decoder, with a 36-2 wheel. Wire the the open ended shielding to the ground on the board, as well as the negative wire of the sensor. It will work (it does on mine).

I would do this except everything I have read says you can't share a VR input and I would need to share it ...

Coyoteboy,

I understand I can take full control of the engine management (and I may do this at a later date) but for now I am wondering if I can use my trigger set up (basically 2 bolts welded to the front crank pulley 180° apart passing a VR sensor at 60° BTDC) to trigger MS to control the OE ...

I went ahead and installed another coil and this worked to fool the ignitor to send a signal to the stock ECU so it would not shut down the injectors. I'll try to come up with something cleaner later.

Why don't you drop the vb921 and use the factory ignitor to fire the coil? The factory ...

BTW, does anyone know for sure how many teeth the stock Toyota crank wheel has? I scoped it and I think I count 36-2 teeth. Does this sound correct? they are difficult to count on a DSO when you move the time width up far enough to get an entire revolution in the window.

It uses a VR sensor. Do ...

I scoped the IGF line and it is a 5v square wave. It looks to me it is going 5v on each firing of ...
