Re: Help please V3 crank sensor problems

Hi guys I have installed the latest Microsquirt controller to a GM C20XE engine that uses a 60-2 crank wheel as standard.
The problem I am having is the RPM signal dropping to 0 around 4000 rpm, it will rev thru it up the road and just gives a stutter but I can't seem to fix it.
so far I have ...

Re: D5/VR Modification

All of the Microsquirt Modules already has the diode corrected, so there is no need to do this mod on the board.

Re: New MicroSquirt AMPSEAL - Pin 18 missing?

I noticed pin 18 on my AMPSEAL connector is not populated, i.e., no attached black wire ground like pins 22 & 23. Pins 22 & 23 look fine. Is this intentional?

Marty

Hi Marty,

Pin 18 is still unconnected, the wiring diagram image has been updated. This pin is used for sensor ground exactly like ...

Re: Reset/Lock when serial is connected

Hard to know exactly how the noise is coming back, but if there are resets then somehow the uS power is getting disrupted somehow. Yes, separating the serial lines from the rest of the bundle may help. Is the laptop running on batteries, or is it plugged into the AC mains?

If you can get your hands ...

Re: Reset/Lock when serial is connected

Question - are you using the internal ignition coil drivers? This has caused some installations grief due to the 400V flyback pulse, and the serial connection often gets the brunt of this and causes resets, etc. If you are using the internal drivers then you may have to make sure the ignition drive ...

Re: new microsquirt?

Whether the module in a soup-can with a trailer connector is a viable product was not my concern. My point is that the inherent license of the module is what allows ME to sell anything at all!

Absolutely - once you purchase the module, you can do anything you want with it, its your property ...

new microsquirt?

the module by itself has little value
This statement is incredible. Under the current business model as I understand it, for small vendors the MODULE IS THE LICENSE.

Take the comment above in its correct context - the module, by itself, will not run a car without additional hardware. Its what ...

Re: new microsquirt?

So that makes the Microsquirt module no longer competitive at all.

Jean

Wow - I thought that people would be happy to pay less for the new Microsquirt...its no problem for B&G to jack up the price  Its true - no good deed goes unpunished....

You did not read the announcement fully ...

Re: Opto 1-Max Practical Tooth Count

Wes - there is some filtering on the Opto side that may phase shift high tooth count. There is that 0.2uf cap in the circuit that provides a lot of filtering for ignition coil ringing, but can cause delay for high tooth count/high RPMs.

Is this for Microsquirt module? If so then you may be OK, the ...
