A little update on this and what I've figured out so far:

1) Mini-Term fails to return a code version.
2) Cable seems Ok. Also purchased from diyautotune. Sold specifically for this app.
3) Loopback test on CABLE ONLY (pin 2 to pin 3) is successful. Returns characters; double characters with local ...

I've been doing some research and found that all KA24E and KA24DE powered Nissan's (at least the US models) should be compatible with the MegaSquirt-2 and allow for complete fuel and spark control without giving you any trouble.
