When you say map keeps dropping, you want the LOWEST numerical KPa value, not the highest. 30 degrees does sound like too much advance at idle to me as well.

Yeah, that's what I was shooting for, lowest KPa reading. With the timing up around 30* I was getting ~49KPa. It bounces around a lot ...

Idle timing

Hi,

I just got my MS'd 355ci SBC running for the first time a few days ago. I've been bleeding the cooling system for the last couple of days, and now that I have all the air out can get to the serious tuning.

I'm running MSnS-E with the 8-pin HEI, and I'm having some issues with getting a good ...

I've used Megatune with good success on my PB G4/500 and 12" PB G4/887 running VPC 6 and Win2K. I use the IOGEAR USB-Serial adapter.

Re: Port Injection Manifold Chevy 350 UK

Check this page out, it gives the main off the shelf options for Gen I small blocks.

I personally decided to convert an LT1 intake. You can buy them already converted (LT1intake.com) if you want off the shelf, of maybe save some money buy grabbing a ...

I had a tough time finding vacuum caps for all the connectors I had to block off for my install, I think the biggest vacuum caps I could find were 3/8"? I ended up using some of the larger (12MM) lines filled with silicone to make a cap. Recently, while working on another project, I came across ...

Throttle plate to bore is ok. There are two holes in the plate from the factory, I might have to plug those up. There is a idle air bypass screw, its set to zilch.

You shouldn't have to plug anything in the TB plate. I initally had high idle in my MS'd 914 2.0, and tracked it down to the cold ...

You might want to try talking to some of the guys on forums.turbobricks.com. They are quite a few running MS on volvos (although mostly boosted applications as the name suggests), some of their fueling and timing maps might be of help though, and there are a few NA guys MS'd there as well. Maybe ...

May I chip in here? You say "no vacuum", do you mean there is a vacuum pot that's not connected, or a dizzy with no vacuum advance?f

On older distributor cars, base timing is checked and set with all vacuum advance/retard mechanisms disconnected so as not to interfere with the reading. This is ...
