Cannoct connect to FW v. 3.83

I updated the firmware on my module OK. Now when I try to connect Tuner Studio (registered v. 2.6.14) it gives me a communication error. I was using a cheap USB to serial cable and the FTDI driver OK prior to this. It was picked up as COM 6, and when I ran Communications-Settings-Detect, my module ...

Re: 84 GPZ1100 dual spark / wasted spark 2 tach

Hey, this place is not a total ghost town! :D

I have since abandoned the dual trigger idea and am awaiting a 24-2 trigger wheel that will work with the stock 1-4 cylinder VR pickup and press on to the stock advance unit (the tooth will have to be ground down). I have removed the 2-3 pickup and ...

Re: How MS Reads Temperature (Roger Enns)

No resurrection intended, it appears to be a "sticky" or some sort, and I had a CLT sensor problem (reading sub zero in 70 degree (F) weather). This thread (and a few other older ones) was near the top of the forum when I viewed it, which leads me to believe it was "stuck" or "pinned" there on ...

Re: How MS Reads Temperature (Roger Enns)

Hi,

The link below is to another forum (EasyTherm) where Roger has posted some excellent information that people might want to read on how MegaSquirt converts the temperature sensor resistance into something meaningful.

You can find it here:

Re: CLT sensor erroneous reading in 3.83

A friend pointed out this thread in a Porsche 914 forum where CLT sensor values were a problem due to the air cooled engines. I'm looking at the ini file for 3.83 (megasquirt-II_3830.ini) and am going to add "set EXPANDED_CLT_TEMP" to the beginning of it so as to allow the higher coolant temp values ...

Re: 84 GPZ1100 dual spark / wasted spark 2 tach

I used the tachref program tonight and didn't realize there is no way to save the output. I did a couple of screen caps and tried to splice them together. If I can attach a JPG, I'll do so.

There is some distortion about halfway through where I tried to splice two pics together. The red line is ...

Re: CLT sensor erroneous reading in 3.83

I have tried reducing the maximum temperature point from 300 c to 250 and 200 and get the same result.

Re: 84 GPZ1100 dual spark / wasted spark 2 tach

from what I understand, if your are running dual spark mode, your trigger offset needs to be a negative number.
instead of 24 degrees try (-360 + 24) = -336degres.

adjust cranking pulse tolerance up to 75% or higher to see if you get a steady cranking rpm.
I found this post and am sorry to see it ...

Suzuki GS1000 ignition pickups and dual spark

I am running a V3 Microsquirt version 3.83 on my 1981 GS1000. It's an inline even fire 4 cylinder with two coils (wasted spark setup). The stock system uses two pickup coils, one for cyls. 1-4 and the other for cyls. 2-3. The crank has a piece on the end with one tooth. Stock timing is 17 BTDC under ...

CLT sensor erroneous reading in 3.83

This is my first post here, but I have a lot of forum experience. I was formerly on the MS Extra forum since I had to find an email address to use to get in this one.

Here is my setup:
MS V3 on a 1981 Suzuki GS1000, which is an air cooled 4 cylinder 4 stroke motorcycle. I am running version 3.83 ...
