I was also stubborn, doing everything myself. It took me ages to get the MAP reasonable as I'd do a bit, then alter it, and so on. Driving with a buddy is much better, 'cos firstly you can concentrate on driving the car (not crashing it, and keeping it on the right revs/MAP), and secondly they can ...

Yeah, I agree - get a mate to sit in the car with you, and just drive while he/she does the adjusting. I took a mate in my car, and it took about 30 minutes with a narrow-band O2 to get a useable map - certainly I've done two rallies (one forest, one tarmac) with it, and it's not missed a beat ...
