Re: How do you size a throttle body for a 1 cylinder

Thanks guys. Read your 650 project and will be ref to it often as I go about mine. Just wasn't sure about the 140cc dif in displacement between out bikes. I will try for 38-42 range when I select. More latter have to go.

Displacement is one thing but engine pump efficiency is another. Your KTM ...

Re: How do you size a throttle body for a 1 cylinder

+1 You can get away with a slightly larger throttle body without compromising torque at lower engines speeds due to the superior atomization of the injector. My DR650 FI project has the LT-R450 throttle body which is 42mm. The bike had a 39mm FCR-MX carb before the FI project. I was worried I might ...

Re: Trigger wheel on Husaberg

The stock rotor looks like it could be facing a strength issue if you modified it's outer shell. Your internal toothed shell looks good. You'd have to find a way to pin it or key it in position obviously. I'm wondering if the sensor mounted between the charging coils like that would be an issue with ...

Re: Where to purchase good shielded cable?

I'm using a shielded Belden cable for both of my hall sensors. You can by multi conductor cable from most electronics stores or go online to places like Digi-Key and get it....

Re: KLR 650 w/Ignition Project

So you are going to use a straight hall sensor instead of a back biased gear tooth sensor... that should be interesting. How small do plaint hall sensors go down to diameter wise? I couldn't find anything in a gear tooth sensor that was small enough in diameter so I had to make my own.

Re: Durability ?

+1 The Microsquirt is not water proof as it comes..... I hear the board is coated but I'd hate for water/mud to test out this coating. I sealed the end plates on mine for my dualsport bike. I also made a boot to keep water from entering the back of the ampseal connector.

Re: KLR 650 w/Ignition Project

All: I just bought a Ninja fuel pump off Ebay. It's an in-tank unit so I'll have to see whether I can get it in there but the Ninja doesn't produce any more juice that the KLR so powering it shouldn't be a problem and it has a fuel pressure regulator in it (45-50 psi). Based on what you guys are ...

Re: KLR 650 w/Ignition Project

There has to be one identifiable tooth for the tach signal on any pattern you use. 36 or?/1 crank for wasted spark... 36 or?/0 crank with 1 tooth cam for sequential... You can also use just a cam input but it must have a missing tooth just like the wasted spark crank wheel. The best set-up would be ...

Re: KLR 650 w/Ignition Project

MXRob: I've been riding this summer and cogitating on what I need to do for this project. I bought a good rotor off ebay. I've already got the TB with all the sensors. I haven't decided on a pump yet but I'm leaning toward a Harley pump. They're simple, in tank pumps with integral pressure ...
