Can Bus and Racepak

Hey Guys,

I know it is possible to read Data FROM the a MEGAsquirt with a Racepak module over the CAN bus. My question is: Does it go both ways. Can the Microsquirt or Megasquirt read data from the racepak?

Thanks in Advance,

Re: ignition quitting

By the way...my next pulse tolerance is set at 90/60/40 for cranking/after start/normal running.

ignition quitting

My microsquirt is killing my engine randomly. Some times it will run for a few seconds, some times a few minutes. It ran great last winter but this year it is having problems. I did some other work on the sled but don't know what would be causing the problem.

I have a data log showing what ...

Re: Base Ignition Settings

You have to get a setup that has 1 sensor and produces 2 evenly spaced pulses per rev. In this case use NON-dual spark, 0 wheel teeth. This would be equivalent to a standard distributor/ reluctor setup.

Assuming for a second I could get the processor to recognize my signal as two evenly spaced ...

Re: Base Ignition Settings

I looked at your no tooth msl, and there are a load of trigger± in that log, and a couple of tach resets. You want trigger± to be zero, and no tach resets.
The 68-2 is all over the place, it just spike after spike, you must have a lot of noise on this or it must be set wrong. :?

The tachref ...

Re: Base Ignition Settings

I am afraid the only good fix is to filter the signal from one VR sensor so that the processor recognizes it correctly. Unless someone could modify the code so it utilizes only the first and fourth pulses (see attachment) as generated by my sensor.

Any ideas?

Re: Base Ignition Settings

I think there is something wrong with my processor.
The stock ECU used these same sensors with no problem.

I just rigged up a 68-2 missing tooth setup on a non used starter ring gear on my sled. Tachref picks up the pulses fine, but i can't get the unit to recognize rpm. i will post a datalog of ...

Re: Base Ignition Settings

Grippo,

I tried to run each sensor along independently. No matter which one I run, If I run one of them, I get the three tooth plot, If I run the other I get the four tooth plot. It is only if I run them together, that i get the good single plot with one pulse every time I need an ignition event ...
