Re: V-twin front cyl runs much hotter than rear--- Why?

What was the final outcome?

Just to add, 2 things come to mind.

All things being equal - normally the rear should be hotter going down the road. The front has more airflow. But, its more of a cylinder filling comparison. Vtwins can just have alot of weird pulsing going on.

1 - vtwins can ...

How is the timing controled??

The us can send output signals at any rpm or map sensor value.

Knock sensing

Looking for info on knock sensing. To start:

Is the microsquirt knock input ready to interpret a knock signal?

Does the knock sensor need an amplifier first?

Or is the input only for a retard signal?

Does code 2.890 even use the knock ability?

Re: optoin ? hall senor wiring clarification

Run +12v and -12v to the sensor (engine ground, but you can use option-) The signal wire fom the sensor connects to VR2 input if using a crank sensor as well. If its your only sensor then yes to option +. A resistor in series is for vr sensors. Depending if your cam sensor is a - or + trigger. If ...

Re: No/curious triggering of injectors

2 things to emember:

-The cranking pulsewidths are set independantly of the VE table.
-tps above 70-75% (settable) activates clear flood mode (fuel cut) during cranking.

Re: Need some help with this Vtwin....please!!!

12 skip teeth is a correct setting. And will work for sure.

I was playing with this over a year ago when i did an install and am thinking this is how it code worked. The code would not allow every tooth to be a tach tooth and defaulted to 1st tooth after missing. And you would get a tach every 360 ...

Re: Need some help with this Vtwin....please!!!

2 things.

Injection control - you want 2 injection per cycle. (cuz you have 2 cylinders) You have it set to 1.

You do not have wasted spark set. Skip teeth is at 24- should be 0.

Without wasted spark- and you have no reference spark output vs stroke position. (reason it fires on one cylinder ...

Re: Serial Data

Since thats what megalogviewer does, you can use that program or the lcdash does live data. If you can talk to one of those guys who sell/designed it - they may be able to help.

Re: Need some help with this Vtwin....please!!!

You want a cylinder offset of 90, not -270. Since #2 from the uS automatically fires 360* after #1, a setting -270 is firing #2 at 630* after #1. You want it to advance 90*. Most vtwins will fire the 2nd cylinder this way. No matter which way you look at it- your TDC's are 90* apart. And this will ...

Re: Micro squirt will not run.

Did you check the comm port your computer designated for the usb adapter? And set tunerstudio/megatune for that port and tested it?

No pump is usually bootloader grounded. I think it cycles the pump if ecm type is not set?
