Re: VR or Hall effect sensor for Crank position?

I wanted to try sequential fueling and also the speed density algorith and at the time needed sequential to properly time the map sample in the cycle, the latest MS2extra codes have a way around this however. If your doing alpha-N and wasted spark and dont care about the injection timing then yes ...

Take a look at this thread:

I much prefer gear tooth hall sensors myself, you can see my YFZ450 installation on the second page of that thread.

Re: ideal cam and crank wheel for single cyl

I run a 36-1 on the crank and a single tooth on the cam with my YFZ450 which operates to 11,000 this setup has been flawless with the extra code. I machined up a custom toothed ring that presses onto the stock flywheel which is read by an Allegro gear tooth hall sensor.

Have you looked into using a gear tooth hall effect sensor instead of a VR sensor, I can't for the life of me figure out why so many people continue to struggle along with VR sensors when a hall is so simple and effective.

Re: Questions about one long tooth crank trigger

Andy,

Here's some scope pics from my VR sensor output on the YFZ450 motor, same engine as your WR450. The first is at idle ~1700rpm and the second is ~5600rpms, the square wave is the output of my LM1815 circuit. As you know I'm only running fuel with this setup.
