You lost me on that one... what will be controlling advance? You're suggesting having a standalone ignition system?... I'm lost on what's controlling it.

How do you have the dizzy setup right now?

12v on red? ground on black? pulling a signal off of white?

I'm not at home otherwise I'd check, but .168 sounds like what I was getting. I can't be sure until I get back to my work bench.

I did just pull the schematic on the CAS and the FSM shows it ...

Actually, I don't have a green... it is a blue on mine... that or the color has changed. That one really doesn't matter though, it's the 360 slot signal. The only 3 that matter are Black, Red and White.

I don't believe Nissan would change from 12V to 5V, so I think that is a 12V power (red wire ...

Can you control dwell with a MSD 6a ignition module? Or does the module control this directly?

In this case I wouldn't be using vb921 so I'm thinking the MSD 6a would control that, but thought maybe you'd know off the top of your head?

Oh, and it's a White wire, not yellow :D

I had to splice back the connector to test out my spare dizzy and was a little surprised by that as well.

Let me know if you get it working. I've searched around and to my knowledge, no one has gotten the Nissan dual opto dizzy working with MS yet.

How sure are you the White wire is power? I have a KA24E that I'm getting ready to hook an MSEFI up to and plan on using the stock dizzy. I hooked 5v up to red, ground to black and got the 4 slot signal on the white. However, the signal is a little odd. I couldn't read it off of a voltmeter. I ended ...

Ok, actually I found out some conclusive information about my setup... I was speculating on some of it and aparantly speculating incorrectly.

The air regulator is heated by the ECU. The connector on it is NOT a sensor, but input for the electricity needed to heat up the air reg. The AAC and FICD ...

My only concern with that approach would be that the hole for the AAC is smaller than the one for the Air Regulator. It may not be able to push enough air during startup to run at normal open loop warmup rpms.

What other reason does an engine need a idle air control for besides the regular idle ...

I think I figured it out. Would someone tell me if this sounds right?

A solenoid is either 100% on or 100% off right? Which would mean the only limiting factor in how much flows through the solenoid is the orifice size. This kinda makes sense as to why there's 4 different idle air controls.

The ...

So basically all you need is one valve that can control air flow for open and closed idle air functions? I'm just trying to understand why there's 3 different devices on my engine that control idle air flow. From what I'm reading the MSEFI doesn't need that many, is there some benefit for it I'm not ...
