Microsquirt Features for 1 Cylinder Turbo Engine

Hi everyone!

Thank you in advance for reading my post and for helping me with my questions about this ECU! :D

Currently I am mounting a Turbocharger in my Scooter (IHI RHB31 + 250cc Engine), and I am looking for an ECU to calibrate the engine. Previously I have worked with other ECU's like Motec M400 or the Bosch MS4 Turbo, Bosch Me17...but for this private project I need a better price/quality solution....

I have researched about the features that the Microsquirt offer´s, but I still have questions. The features that I would like to have in order to control the engine are this one:

-Lambda (Wideband Sensor) Control
-Boost Control (PWM)
-Knock Control
-Logging capability

Otherwise, I have a 24-2 tooth crankwheel sensor, without a cam sensor.

Can the ECU use the map sensor to syncronize the engine, or is the ECU using the crank signal (revolution time) for this?

I have heard that there are some firmwares that allow to use the previously written features at the same time, but I am really new in the MS world and I don't know exactly where to search...

Please, could someone give me some advice? It would be great if you could post some links with information about the wiring for this features and how to upgrade the firmware.

In exchange, I will post my project if I decide to buy the MS micro! :D So, try to convince me! :yeah!:

Thank's in advance!

Conceptually, the MicroSquirt will be more like the Motec than the Bosch Motorsports system.

Logging is done through a laptop.

Several of the features you asked about - boost control and using MAP sampling to determine engine phase - require MS2/Extra firmware. This has its own support forum at MSExtra.com.
