VR sensor position

Hi all,

I've got an adjustable trigger wheel and set the pulley to be at TDC. As show in this diagram Image, when the engine is at TDC I've rotated the missing tooth past the sensor (with regards to the clockwise motion of the pulley when the engine is running) nine teeth (4 cylinder engine). When I do this the engine backfires and won't start.

Have tried going nine teeth in the opposite direction and the car ran nicely, but something odd is happening when I go to advance the timing in Megatunix - when I go to advance the timing, it retards the timing.

Not sure what to make of all this, ideas?

The diagram you posted is for EDIS - are you using an EDIS module in your install?

Could you post a copy of your MSQ?

MSQ? Yes, I'm running an EDIS setup.

I'm thinking the coil wiring (negative wires) could be around the wrong way. I may have a chance to check this this afternoon.

Okay, got that one sorted. I have a new question, however. How do I get the TPS to affect my timing advance? I only see MAP.
